Xinhua, February 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nepalese Prime Minister Sharma Oli will begin a six-day official visit to India on Feb. 19, a government spokesperson said.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers presided over by Prime Minister Oli Thursday instructed the Foreign Ministry to make preparations for the forthcoming visit, Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai told media Thursday night after the meeting.

The prime minister will be staying in the Indian capital New Delhi till Feb. 23 at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

"Preparations are on regarding prime minister's upcoming visit to India," Prime Minister Oli's Foreign Relations Expert Gopal Khanal told Xinhua.

Officials said the premier's visit will be focused on restoring the bilateral ties into normalcy which were at their lowest ebb following the promulgation of a new constitution in Nepal last September. Endit
