Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi arrives in India on 3-day visit

Xinhua, February 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

The crown prince of Abu Dhabi and the deputy supreme commander of the UAE's armed forces, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has arrived in India on a three-day visit.

The crown prince, who is leading a 100-member business delegation, was received by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Delhi airport Wednesday evening.

"Sheikh Mohammed is a visionary leader. His visit will add new vigour & momentum to comprehensive strategic partnership between India & UAE," Modi tweeted.

Some 16 agreements are likely to be signed between India and the UAE during the crown prince's stay in the Indian capital.

The pacts cover such areas as defence equipment production in India, security, cooperation in nuclear and space sector and renewable energy, the Ministry of External Affairs has said.

UAE is India's third largest trade partner. During Modi's visit to the UAE in August last year, both the countries had decided to raise the current trade volume by 60 percent over next five years. Enditem
