Paris Saint-Germain attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi is closing on a move to a Chinese football club, reported L'Equipe on Saturday evening.
The 30-year-old Argentine, having been rumored to be purchased by Serie A's Inter Milan and Juventus before the European transfer window closed on January 31, was convinced to join Shanghai Shenhua, according to L'Equipe website.
"Lavezzi was not on the PSG bus to Marseille on Saturday for the weekend's Ligue 1 away match," read the report. "The Argentine striker has decided to leave PSG to respond positively to China's sirens."
According to L'Equipe, Lavezzi could move to Shanghai Shenhua with a fee between 5 to 10 million euros and a contract that will earn him 10 million euros net a year.
However, nothing is yet done as Shenhua have yet to make a formal offer to PSG for the player's transfer. The Chinese transfer window closes on February 26.
It is suspected that Lavezzi has been convinced that he has a better chance of making Argentina's Copa America squad by playing matches in China rather than sitting on PSG's bench for the rest of the season. Endi
