Dollar in upper 116 yen level in early Tokyo trading

The U.S. dollar changed hands at the upper 116 yen level early Friday in Tokyo.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 116.88-89 yen compared with 116.72-82 yen in New York and 117.94-97 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The euro fetched 1.1199-1200 dollars and 130.90-91 yen against 1.1202-1212 dollars and 130.88-98 yen in New York and 1.1080-1082 dollars and 130.69-73 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon. Enditem
