Deficit in Iceland's balance of trade falls in January

Iceland saw the deficit in its balance of trade in goods decrease to 1.2 billion Icelandic krona (9.41 million U.S. dollars) in January from 9.4 billion Icelandic krona in December last year, Statistics Iceland said Thursday.

Preliminary figures show the value of exported goods amounted to 45.9 billion krona, while the value of imported goods amounted to 47.1 billion krona in January.

Compared with December 2015, the value of exported goods in January saw a decrease of 1.1 billion krona, while the value of imported goods saw a decrease of 9.3 billion krona. Enditem
