Serbia beat Slovenia 5-1 in Futsal Euro

Serbia beat Slovenia 5-1 in the opening match of the final tournament of the Futsal Euro, the UEFA indoor football championships, here on Tuesday.

Retired Serbian footballer Dejan Stankovic kicked off the tournament, in which 12 teams contest.

Defending champions Italy are joined by the hosts Serbia, Spain, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

Teams qualified through the preliminary round, main round and the play-off round in 2015. Top two teams of each of the four groups advance into the quarter-finals, with the winners of the tournament book a berth of the FIFA Futsal World Cup to be held in Colombia in September 2016. Endit
