Industrial producer prices down 0.8 pct in eurozone, EU in December

Industrial producer prices fell by 0.8 percent in both the 19-member eurozone and the 28-member European Union (EU) in December 2015, compared with November 2015, official figures showed Tuesday.

In November 2015, the prices decreased by 0.2 percent in both zones, according to Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU.

Moreover, Eurostat said in December 2015, compared with December 2014, industrial producer prices fell by 3.0 percent in the euro area and by 3.2 percent in the EU.

By annual comparison, the industrial producer prices fell in all EU member states, with the largest decreases observed in Lithuania (minus 8.1 percent), the Netherlands (minus 7.7 percent), Cyprus (minus 7.0 percent), Denmark (minus 5.8 percent), Greece (minus 5.7 percent) and Estonia (minus 5.5 percent).
