On the final day of the winter transfer window Dutch league leaders PSV attracted Marco van Ginkel on loan from Chelsea.

The 23-year-old midfielder was active as loanee for Stoke City in the first half the season, playing in 17 Premier League matches of which 8 as a starter. In the 2014/2015 season Van Ginkel played on loan for AC Milan.

The Dutch and English transfer window closed at 11.59 p.m. on Monday night and PSV was right on time to present the new signing at around 11.30 p.m. in Eindhoven. He signed a loan deal for the remainder of the 2015/2016 season.

Van Ginkel made his way through the youth academy of Dutch club Vitesse and made his first team debut in 2010. Three years later he moved to Chelsea, signing a deal until 2018. Partly due to a severe knee injury he failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.

PSV had tried to lure Van Ginkel to Eindhoven two times before in the summer of 2013 and 2014, but the Dutchman preferred a loan move to Milan and Stoke respectively. This time Van Ginkel thought the time was right, due to the imminent of arrival of another midfielder at Stoke, FC Porto's Giannelli Imbula, and due to the perspective of winning trophy's at PSV and playing in the Champions League.

Also on final hours of transfer deadline day Ajax, currently second in the Eredivisie, brought back 19-year-old striker Richairo Zivkovic after a disappointing loan spell at Willem II, while Arsenal loanee Yaya Sanogo, who did not impress in Amsterdam, moved back to England and continued on loan at Charlton Athletic until the end of the season.

Feyenoord let Colin Kazim-Richards, who was not wanted anymore by Feyenoord coach Giovanni van Bronkhorst, moved to Scottish giants Celtic. The 29-year-old Turkish forward signed a two-and-a-half year deal in Glasgow. Endit
