Interview: Huge potentials in economic cooperation between BiH, China: BiH presidency member

Xinhua, January 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and China developed smoothly and there are huge potentials in bilateral economic cooperation, said Mladen Ivanic, member of BiH Presidency, here on Wednesday.

During an interview with Xinhua, Ivanic said China always supports stability of BiH without any controversial approach.

"China was involved in BiH basically since the beginning with a very fair and honest approach," he said.

Talking about economic cooperation, Ivanic noted the two sides have jointly developed some large projects in infrastructure in BiH, "but I think we are still at the beginning and we can do even more, and I expect this year or next year we will have more agreements in that field".

BiH will benefit from the"16+1"mechanism, or China and Central-Eastern European (CEE) cooperation format, said Ivanic. "It is a very important mechanism for the region. We are part of it, and we support it."

The two sides needed to increase bilateral trade, said Ivanic, adding that BiH can benefit from Chinese market, one of the largest in the world.

The two countries can enhance cultural exchanges, he added. Enditem
