Singapore stocks close almost flat

Singapore stocks finished slightly higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.57 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 2,546.18.

A total of 758.4 million shares changed hands with turnover of 809.8 million Singapore dollars (566.3 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 224 to 166, while 525 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 37.03 points, or 1.43 percent, to close at 2,545.61 on Tuesday. Enditem
