British FTSE 100 rises 2.19 pct on Friday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday rose by 2.19 percent, or 126.22 points, to 5,900.01 points.

Share price of Sports Direct International increased by 6.08 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Royal Dutch Shell A, Royal Dutch Shell B, BG Group and BT Group increased by 5.36 percent, 5.27 percent, 5.09 percent and 4.64 percent respectively.

Anglo American led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 8.59 percent, followed by Glencore (4.46 percent), Pearson (1.88 percent), Rio Tinto (1.11 percent) and Royal Bank of Scotland Group (0.15 percent). Endit
