SW China province nominates acting governor

The local legislature in Sichuan on Friday nominated Yin Li as acting governor of the southwestern Chinese province.

Yin, 54, is a native of Linyi, Shandong province. He was vice minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission before being nominated deputy secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of its publicity department in April 2015.

At a meeting, the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress accepted the resignation of former governor Wei Hong.

Wei was suspected of "severe disciplinary violations," Wu Yuliang, deputy chief of the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said on Jan. 15. Endi
