Singapore stocks close 1.06 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 27.07 points, or 1.06 percent, to close at 2,532.70.

A total of 1.16 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.39 billion Singapore dollars (964.8 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 288 to 127, while 509 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 78.70 points, or 2.98 percent, to close at 2,559.77 on Wednesday. Endit
