At least one person was killed and 12 others wounded after a suicide car bomb exploded near the Russian Embassy in the western part of the Afghan capital of Kabul on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The suicide blast occurred at around 05:10 p.m. (1240 GMT) along Dar-ul-Aman road. The target is still unknown. The police condoned off the areas and ambulances arrived at the scene, witness Jamal Formuli told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Car Bomb)

DAMASCUS -- At least 3,000 people have been killed in Russian airstrikes in Syria since Sept. 30 of last year, a Syrian monitor group reported on Wednesday.
The airstrikes killed a total of 1,015 civilians, including 238 children under 18, 640 men and 137 women, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-Russia-Airstrikes)

TOKYO -- Twenty-two people on a tour bus in Tokyo were injured when the bus crashed on National Route 8 in the center of the capital on Wednesday.
The bus, carrying 30 passengers in total, careened into the central divider on the road and also hit a traffic light pole, local police said. (Japan-Bus Crash)

ISLAMABAD -- A splinter group of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the attack on a university in the country's northwest district of Charsadda, which has reportedly killed 19 people and wounded over 50 others.
Local Urdu TV channel Waqt News quoted Umar Mansoor, a commander of the Geedar group of TTP, as saying that they had sent four men for the attack. (Pakistan-TTP Attack) Endi
