Canadian PM leaves for Davos

Xinhua, January 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau left Wednesday for Davos, Switzerland, to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

"At the World Economic Forum, we will signal the return of a more positive, open and innovative Canada to the international business community," Trudeau said before his departure.

"In an increasingly interconnected global economy, Canada's diversity and connections to the world are among our greatest economic assets, and will prove vital as we work to grow the middle class," the prime minister noted.

At Davos, Trudeau is set to introduce a series of measures in store to boost the economy, including creating jobs and investing in green energy and social infrastructure, according to the prime minister's office.

Other measures include tax cuts for the middle class and small businesses and the encouragement of innovation.

The Canadian prime minister is also expected to discuss a wide range of international issues with world leaders. Endi
