Sao Paulo secure loan deal for Argentine striker

Xinhua, January 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Boca Juniors have agreed to loan striker Jonathan Calleri to Brazil's Sao Paulo, the player's father said on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old, who had also been linked with Atletico Mineiro and Bologna, will be tied to the six-time Brazilian Serie A champions for six months.

"There's a verbal agreement in place. Nothing is signed yet but we should finalize it by tomorrow," Guillermo Calleri told ESPN Brasil.

Calleri scored 15 goals and provided nine assists in 36 matches for Boca Juniors last year.

Argentine media reported that Calleri has requested an European passport in the hope of securing a summer move to Italy or Spain. Endit
