Beijing Guoan is ready to welcome the biggest name in the club's history as Renato Augusto, the latest MVP from Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, signed a deal with the soccer club of the Chinese Super League.
According to Brazilian media reports, Beijing Guoan spent 8 million euros to get Augusto and offered him an annual pay of 6.5 million euros.
The 27-year-old can play either attacking midfielder or wing forward in the front line. He used to play for Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.
Last season, he played 30 games for Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, scoring five goals with seven assists, helping the team win a Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A title, and he was awarded the MVP for his performance.
The last time he played for the Brazilian national team was the World Cup qualifier against Uruguay. Augusto was a starter and scored a goal in that game.
Alberto Zaccheroni, the coach of Beijing Guoan, arrived in Beijing on Tuesday Morning. He will show up in a press conference together with Augusto and Ralf, another new signing of the club. Endit
