Vietnam to host first professional women's golf tourney

Da Lat 1,200 Ladies Golf Championship, the first international professional tournament for women golfers, will be held from March 22-27 in the central highlands city of Da Lat, the municipal authorities said Tuesday.

Over 120 golfers from many countries and regions, mainly from South Korea, Thailand, Australia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong of China and Chinese Taipei, have registered to compete at the tournament jointly held by the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association and South Korean SBS TV.

The tourney's prizes total 420,000 U.S. dollars, with the first prize being 84,000 U.S. dollars.

The Da Lat 1,200 golf course is 1,200 meters above sea level in the Da Ron Valley in the highlands city, Lam Dong province. Endit
