Albanian banks ease credit standards on house purchases

The Bank of Albania on Monday said commercial banks in Albania continued to ease credit standards on loans to households, especially for house purchases, in the fourth quarter of 2015.

According to a lending survey results published for the fourth quarter of 2015, the net percentage of banks reporting eased credit standards increased, from 8.8 percent in the third quarter to 13.3 percent in the fourth quarter.

Moreover, banks reported that standards eased on credit for house purchase, with the balance assessed at 13.3 percent from 7.9 percent in the previous quarter.

Commercial banks in Albania stated credit standards to households for house purchase and consumption purposes would continue to ease in first quarter of 2016. Enditem
