Urgent: 126 hostages freed from operation in Burkina Faso hotel, 3 jihadists killed

A total of 126 hostages have been freed from a Burkina Faso hotel seized by Al-Qaida militants after security operation killed three jihadists, the security minister said.

Three jihadists, including an Arab and two black Africans, were killed during the operation in the Splendid Hotel, but the attack is still ongoing at the Hotel Ybi nearby, said Simon compaore.

The Splendid Hotel, not far from the capital city's international airport, often hosts Westerners, including UN staff and journalists. Foreigners and Burkina Faso nationals are among the hostages, according to the Foreign ministry. Endi
