Kenya's military on Friday confirmed that the heavily armed fighters from Islamist militant group Al-Shabaab attacked a militant camp run by Somalia National Army (SNA), killing dozens of soldiers.

Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) spokesman Colonel David Obonyo said Kenyan troops under the Africa Union peacekeeping mission (AMISOM) later engaged the fighters who had rammed a suicide car bomb inside the gates of the AMISOM base at 4.00 a.m. local time. (Somalia-Terrorism)

FREETOWN -- Sierra Leone's Health Ministry confirmed Friday the country reported a new Ebola case, hours after the World Health Organization declared an end to the disease in West Africa.

A 22-year-old lady student contacted the disease in Bamoi, Lumor, a marketing community close to Guinea border, in the Kambia district and was taken to Magburaka in the Tonkolili district for treatment where she later died, said Abdulai Baraytay, spokesman of the ministry. (Sierra Leone-Health)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least 11 people were killed and 32 others injured Friday after a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

"In a tragic road accident here today morning, 11 people were killed and many others injured when a bus carrying them rolled down into a deep gorge," Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Shahid Iqbal Choudhary told Xinhua over telephone. (India-Kashmir-Road Accident)

LOS ANGELES -- Two U.S. Marine helicopters collided with each other and crashed off the north shore of Oahu Island in Hawaii Thursday night, local media reported Friday.
