Xinhua, January 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

The friendly soccer match between Panama and El Salvador scheduled for Feb. 10 has been postponed until Feb. 17, according to an official report released on Thursday.

The match will be a warmup for the upcoming World Cup Russia 2018 qualifiers that both teams will face.

The Panamanian Football Federation (Fepafut) announced the change of date was agreed upon by both of the South American sides.

The match will still be played in the Maracana Stadium, in Panama's capital, as previously arranged.

In March, Panama will face Haiti while El Salvador will play Honduras in the final round of the Concacaf (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) World Cup qualifiers.

With three points, Panama currently rank second in their qualifying group, behind Costa Rica on six points. Jamaica are in third place with three points but one goal less than Panama while Haiti are in last place after losing both matches they have played.

El Salvador currently rank third in their group with one point. Mexico are leading with six points followed by Canada on four. Honduras are last without a point. Endit
