Czech Republic eases increased security measures

Xinhua, January 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Czech Republic has eased increased security measures imposed after the Paris terror attacks in November, Czech Interior Minister Milan Chovanec said on Thursday.

Chovanec added the Czech Republic had no information of a terror threat to the country, but that police was still on alert.

Increased security measures were adopted by Czech police after the Paris attack on Nov. 13. Czech police patrolled more department stores, international airports and the French embassy due to the attacks.

According to Chovanec, the increased security measures expired on the last day of 2015.

Later in 2016, the Czech National Security Council and Czech government will approve the establishment of four degrees of threat levels to clearly define the scope of measures to be taken by the state. Endit
