NPC deputies in HK, Macao urged to fully support chief executives

Xinhua, January 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

Hong Kong and Macao deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) should give full support to their respective chief executives in governing according to law, an NPC senior official said on Thursday.

Wang Chen, vice chairman and secretary general of the Standing Committee of the NPC, made the remarks at a briefing held by the General Office of the committee in south China's Zhuhai.

Calling for support for the chief executives and a focus on economic development, Wang also encouraged the two special administrative regions to improve their own competitiveness and push forward their social development by taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the Chinese mainland's development.

Wang urged the NPC deputies to contribute to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao. Endi
