Spanish treasury places 4.3 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Thursday placed treasury bonds worth 4.303 billion euros (4.694 billion U.S. dollars) on the market registering a demand of 8.468 billion euros.

A total of 1.045 billion euros worth of three-year treasury bonds fetched an average interest rate of 0.124 percent, showing no differences when compared with the previous issue.

The placement also included 1.442 billion euros worth of five-year treasury bonds that fetched an average interest rate of 0.656 percent, showing no big differences when compared with the 0.657 percent of December.

Finally, the treasury placed 1.815 billion euros of bonds maturing in 2023 that fetched an average interest rate of 1.266 percent compared to the previous 1.184 percent.

The Spanish treasury aims to place 125.3 billion euros on the market this year to cover Spain's financial needs. (1 euro = 1.09 U.S. dollars) Endit
