British FTSE 100 increases 0.54 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday increased by 0.54 percent, or 31.73 points, to 5,960.97 points.

Share price of BP increased by 3.95 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Sports Direct International PLC, Babcock International Group PLC, Shire PLC and Capita PLC increased by 3.83 percent, 3.82 percent, 3.77 percent and 2.14 percent respectively.

Merlin Entertainments PLC led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.69 percent, followed by Lloyds Banking Group PLC (2.16 percent), Provident Financial PLC (2.14 percent), Sky PLC (1.81 percent), easyJet PLC (1.74 percent). Endit
