Singapore stocks close 0.63 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 17.07 points, or 0.63 percent, to close at 2,691.78.

A total of 1.75 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.02 billion Singapore dollars (708.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 273 to 148, while 505 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 42.38 points, or 1.54 percent, to close at 2,708.85 on Monday. Enditem
