A tour bus rolled over in Thailand's southern province of Phang Nga on Monday night, injuring 18 Chinese tourists aboard, China's consular office in Phuket province said Tuesday.

While heading from Phuket to the airport in Krabi province, the bus rolled over near Phang Nga Bay at about 9 p.m. local time on Monday because it was turning a corner at a high speed, injuring all passengers to different degrees, the office said.

All the injured were promptly sent to the hospital, the office said, adding by 2 a.m. local time on Tuesday, it had been informed that six tourists with minor injuries would fly back to China later in the day as originally scheduled.

The rest will be transferred to a hospital in Phuket for treatment, according to the office. Endit
