Elano confirms Santos return

Xinhua, January 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Former Manchester City and Brazil international midfielder Elano has returned to Santos for a fourth time.

The 34-year-old posted a photo on social media on Sunday showing his arrival at the Brazilian port city for pre-season training.

"It always makes me happy to come back to this city," Elano wrote. "It brings back a lot of great memories. Tomorrow a new season begins."

Elano's contract with Santos ends in April, but it is understood the club is interested in keeping him until at least the end of the year.

The playmaker last month completed a stint for Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League, scoring four goals in 15 matches.

He has been capped 50 times for Brazil and scored nine goals. Endit
