Eleven people have died as a result of heat stroke in South Africa, authorities said on Sunday.
All the deaths were reported in the North West Province, the provincial health department said.

NEW DELHI -- Three children were charred to death in a major fire that broke out in a slum in the Indian capital late Saturday night.

ANKARA -- A Turkish police officer was killed and two others wounded during an anti-terror operation against the the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in eastern Van province on early Sunday, where 12 PKK rebels were killed, local Sabah Daily reported.
