A Syrian opposition figure said on Saturday that aid convoys could be allowed into a besieged town north of the capital Damascus on Monday, where people are said to have been starving to death.

MADRID -- Catalan separatist groups Junts pel Si and CUP reached an 11th hour agreement on Saturday afternoon to form a coalition government in the wealthy Spanish region, avoiding the need to call new elections for the Catalan regional assembly (Generalitat).

Under the agreement, Junts pel Si leader and candidate will become head of the Generalitat. Artur Mas will step aside and replaced by Carles Puigdemont, the current mayor of the city of Girona. (Spain-Government)

PRISTINA -- A dozen of petrol bombs were thrown into the government building in Kosovo on Saturday during a massive protest in local capital Pristina against the agreements reached with Belgrade in August last year in European Union-facilitated dialogue in Brussels.

Police intervened to put out the flames in the government building and used tear gas and water canons to disperse violent protesters.

Three police officers were wounded and some protesters arrested, it was reported, though not confirmed by officials. (Kosovo-Bombs) Endi
