Albania CPI in December 2015 reaches 119.3 pct compared to eight years ago

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Albania in December 2015 reached 119.3 percent compared to December 2007, official data showed on Friday.

According to the report published Friday by the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), in the month of December 2015 the annual rate of consumer price index CPI is 2.0 percent. A year earlier the rate was 0.7 percent.

The annual growth in December 2015 is mainly influenced by "Food and Non-alcoholic beverages" (+2.0 percentage points). Prices of "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" contributed +0.12 percentage points. While, prices of "Educational Service" contributed +0.07 percentage points.

Compared with December 2014, the highest price increase was represented in "Food and Non-alcoholic beverages" by 5.1 percent followed by "Educational Service" by 4.8 percent, "Alcoholic drinks and tobacco" by 3.3 percent.

Compared with November 2015, the largest monthly increase in prices was observed in "Food and alcoholic beverages" by 1.3 percent. Compared to the previous month Euro diesel prices decreased by 1.6 percent and gasoline prices by 1.2 percent. Endit
