Singapore stocks close 2.65 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 74.36 points, or 2.65 percent, to close at 2,729.91.

A total of 1.31 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.57 billion Singapore dollars (1.09 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 397 to 71, while 460 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 29.96 points, or 1.06 percent, to close at 2,804.27 on Wednesday. Enditem
