Tokyo shares open lower tracing declines in U.S. market

Tokyo stocks opened lower Thursday following declines in the overnight U.S. stocks market amid geopolitical concerns in the Middle East and Northeast Asia.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 60.60 points, or 0.33 percent, from Wednesday to 18,130.72.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 2.21 points, or 0.15 percent, to 1,486.63. Enditem
