Indonesia expresses deep concern over DPRK's nuclear bomb test

Xinhua, January 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

Indonesian government expressed its deep concern on the testing of hydrogen bomb carried out by Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday.

"The test was against the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) and the spirit contained in the agreement and was a violation of DPRK's obligations on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions No. 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009) and 2087 (2013),"a statement released by Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

Indonesia called on all parties to pay respect to the UNSC resolutions that advise to restrain and push forward diplomatic measures in creating conducive situation for peace, stability and development in the region.

DPRK has announced its successful hydrogen bomb test on Wednesday morning with its official media boasting that the country is now an officially nuclear-armed country.

China and the U.S. authorities reported significant earthquake took place in the DPRK around the time when the bomb was tested in the morning. Endit
