A four-day winter Nadam fair, highlighted with the 2016 International Ski Federation (FIS) China Tour's West Ujimqin banner (county) stage, kicked off Tuesday in Xilingol League of northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Nearly 1,000 herders will participate in a series of Mongolian traditional sports events such as horse racing, camel racing and wrestling.

Native and overseas skiers will compete in FIS China Tour's West Ujimqin banner stage from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday.

The Nadam fair also attracted more than 300 photography enthusiasts.

Nadam Fair, meaning "entertainment," or "recreation" in Mongolian, originated in the early days of the 13th century and is a mass traditional Mongolian festival mainly filled with sports events. Endi
