1st LD: NE India jolted by strong earthquake at India-Myanmar border

India's northeast region was jolted early Monday by an earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale with its epicenter at India-Myanmar border, said local media.

Tremors were also felt in eastern India's West Bengal state, said TV channel Times Now.

The epicenter of the quake was 33 km from Imphal, state capital of Manipur, said the report.

So far there are no reports of casualties or damage. Endit
