Two people were killed and several others injured on Friday in a shooting attack in central Tel Aviv, Israeli police said.

A suspect apparently opened fire at people in a bar, but the motive is still unclear, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said in a statement.(Israel-Shooting Attack)

KABUL -- Casualties were feared as an explosion rocked Afghan capital of Kabul on Friday evening, witnesses said.

"The blast went off near a local restaurant frequented by foreigners in Qala-e-Fatullah Khan locality. The incident took place at around 5:00 p.m. We still do not know the detail on causalities. There is fear of possible causalities," witness Ahmad Soulaiman told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Blast)

THE HAGUE -- The Netherlands started 2016 with a festive New Year's Eve, but also with some major incidents resulting in two deaths.

CAIRO -- At least 18 people were killed late Thursday when a ferry boat sank in the river Nile, Egyptian state television reported on Friday.

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least 10 laborers were killed and six suffered injuries Friday in a devastating fire in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
