1st LD: Blast rocks Afghan capital with feared casualties

Casualties were feared as an explosion rocked Afghan capital of Kabul on Friday evening, witnesses said.

"The blast went off near a local restaurant frequented by foreigners in Qala-e-Fatullah Khan locality. The incident took place at around 5:00 p.m. We still do not know the detail on causalities. There is fear of possible causalities," witness Ahmad Soulaiman told Xinhua.

Security forces have cordoned off the area for precautionary measures.

The nature of the blast remained unknown.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Enditem
