Indian stocks close higher

Indian stocks made a tentative start to the New Year to close slightly higher on Friday.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 26,160.90, 43.36 points or 0.17 percent up from previous close of 26,117.54, with a turnover of 278.03 crore rupees (about 42.0 million US dollars). Endit
