Singapore stocks close 0.09 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2.71 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 2,885.51.

A total of 922.5 million shares changed hands with turnover of 533.7 million Singapore dollars (378.5 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 212 to 188, while 524 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 12.90 points, or 0.45 percent, to close at 2,888.22 on Tuesday. Enditem
