At least four people were killed and 15 others injured in a blast at a government office in Pakistan's northwest Mardan district on Tuesday afternoon, local media reported.

Urdu TV channel Express said that the explosive materials were fixed at a motorbike parked outside the wall of the building of the National Database Registration Authority in Mardan, a district located in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Police said that the attackers wanted to explode the bike inside the building. But due to strict security measures, they parked it outside and blew it up with a remote controlled device.

The injured people have been shifted to a nearby hospital where at least three of them are said to be in critical condition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Police cordoned off the area for investigations. Enditem
