Macao police bust major drug trafficking case

Macao police on Sunday arrested three suspects and seized 9.3 kilograms of cocaine in a raid against the second largest drug trafficking case since Macao's return to China.

According to judiciary police, a Turkish man who transported the cocaine from Brazil by way of Dubai and Chinese Taipei arrived in Macao on Saturday, and was caught on Sunday morning when trading with two Hongkongers in a hotel.

The Turkish suspect, employed by international drug cartels, has admitted to get 5,000 dollars in return, and the two Hongkongers who were in charge of carrying drug to Hong Kong can earn over 10,000 Hong Kong dollars, the police said.

The drugs with an estimated value of at least 25 million patacas were brought here in plastic bags in which cocaine was wrapped in a bed sheet, the police said.

Judiciary police of Macao noted that the authority will get in contact with the Hong Kong police to make further investigation. Endit
