Afghan army defuses anti-vehicle mines near Kabul

Afghan army found and defused three landmines near the capital city of Kabul, the Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

"The personnel of Afghan National Army's Kabul 111 Division recovered and defused three anti-vehicle mines in two villages of Qara Bagh district in Kabul province," it said in a statement.

The discovery of the mines has foiled possible explosions as roadside bombs and landmines planted by the militants also cause casualties on civilians, the statement added.

The Afghan security forces have beefed up offensives against Taliban militants recently. Enditem
