Xinhua, December 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Search operation for missing people continues on Friday after a boat capsized in waters off South Sulawesi last Saturday, local disaster official said.

It is reported that some victims may still be trapped inside the boat, but no victim was found during intensified search and rescue operation on Friday, Head of Disaster Management Agency for Wajo District of South Sulawesi Alamsyah said.

"After searching whole day, we do not recover any result yet, hence we will hold a meeting tonight (Friday night) to set an option to search inside the body of the boat,"Alamsyah told Xinhua by phone.

"Most likely the victims are being trapped inside as it was reported by survivors."

As many as 15 people were still unaccounted for after rescuers discovered 63 bodies and evacuated 40 others on Thursday, Zaibul Tjahar, spokesman of national search and rescue office, told Xinhua.

The search operation is carried out involving planes, helicopters, ships and boat, he said.
