Suns suspend Markieff Morris two games

Xinhua, December 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Phoenix Suns suspended forward Markieff Morris for two games without pay Thursday after he tossing a towel toward coach Jeff Hornacek a day before.

"My frustration got the best of me [Wednesday] night," Morris tweeted Thursday. "It won't happen again. I apologize to Jeff. My teammates told me I hit Coach with the towel. In no way was that towel intended for him. I just want to help my team win so much. That's my focus moving forward."

The incident happened with 9:47 left of the Suns' 104-96 loss at home to the Denver Nuggets. Morris was taken out of the game and he threw the towel at Hornacek, who in turn picked up the towel and threw it back toward Morris.

"He's mad about not playing," Hornacek said, "I look at the stat sheet. He's a minus-13 in 12 minutes. So there, I took him out. ... He thinks he's better than that. Show me."  Endi
