Skeleton champ, heptathlon star named Latvian Athletes of The Year of 2015

Skeleton slider Martins Dukurs and heptathlete Laura Ikauniece-Admidina were named Latvia's Athletes of The Year of 2015 at the Latvian Annual Sports Awards ceremony Thursday.

Dukurs, who won the award for the fifth time, won the men's world title, Skeleton World Cup series and the European Skeleton Championship in 2014, and has triumphed in all first three Skeleton World Cup stages this season.

Ikauniece-Admidina, who received the national sports award for the first time, set a new Latvian record and won the bronze medal in the women's heptathlon at the 2015 World Championships. She bettered the national heptathlon record for three times over the past season.

Sandis Prusis, head coach of the Latvian national bobsled team, received the annual sports award as Latvia's coach of the year 2015. Endit
