Xinhua, December 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

China hopes the visit of Nepalese Deputy Prime Minister Thapa would cement China-Nepal comprehensive cooperative partnership, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson here on Thursday.

Thapa, also Nepalese foreign minister, is on an official visit to China from Dec. 24-29 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

According to spokesperson Hong Lei, Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao will meet with Thapa. Wang Yi will hold talks with him.

It is highest-level delegation from the Nepal since its new government took office in October, Hong told a routine press briefing.

During Thapa's visit, the two countries will plan their cooperation in various areas and discuss other issues of common concern, Hong said.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of China-Nepal diplomatic relations. Endi
