China is preparing to promote green and sustainable development at the 2019 World Horticultural Expo, Vice Premier Wang Yang said Wednesday.

The expo will be a key platform for China to demonstrate ecological progress and step up global exchange and cooperation, Wang said while chairing the second meeting of the expo's preparation committee.

He highlighted the theme of the expo, namely "green life and beautiful home," saying the preparations will be an opportunity to enhance the green idea in production, consumption and daily life.

The vice premier stressed austerity in organizing the expo, while calling for stronger efforts in building the infrastructure for transportation, accommodation and medical services. Endi
