Germany's Simon Schempp won the World Cup biathlon 12.5-kilometer pursuit to take his third World Cup victory of the season on Saturday.

Schempp was perfect on the shooting range before he clocked 30 minutes 46.5 seconds for the eighth win of his career.

World Cup leader Martin Fourcade of France finished second with 16.6 seconds back and Russia's Anton Shipulin was third at 23.4 seconds.

Germany's Laura Dahlmeier won the women's 10km pursuit for her second World Cup win of the season.

Dahlmeier held an 18-second edge over second-placed Frenchwoman Marie Dorin Habert, the winner over the German in Friday's sprint. Finland's Kaisa Makarainen placed third.

Habert topped the overall standings, followed by Gabriela Soukalova of the Czech Republic and Germany's Franziska Hildebrand.

The World Cup men's and women's mass start races are slated for Sunday. Endi
